Next show to watch?
I just decided to come to reddit because I wanted to.. I'm in the middle of a bunch of shows getting more seasons in the future and I'm bored.. I need to watch another show. I'm stuck between 3.
– Monster (2009) – psychological, dark, evil, and apparently great plot
– Violet Evergarden – chill, sad, and peaceful mixed together.. need one if those shows soon
– Jack of All Trades, Party of None – nice new action anime I want to get in to.
Awajima Hyakkei and AWASHIMA Chikage
I am not sure whether this is an appropreate place to post the interesting possible background of the Awajima hyakkei. If wrong, I am sorry.
"Awajima Hyakkei" is written as 淡島百景 in Japanese. This means "Handread scene of Awajima" as you know. By the way, there was an actress named AWASHIMA Chikage whose name is written as 淡島千景 in Japanese.
You can see there is one character difference between 淡島百景 and 淡島千景.
AWASHIMA Chikage was famous movie start in Japan after the world war II. And previously, she was a star of the Takarazuka Revue which is considederd as the model of Awajima school.
I guess, the drama title "Awajima Hyakkei" is inspired from her name. But I could not find any evidence.
If you only to get to keep 3 anime series and the rest must be erased, what are you picking?
If the entire anime world got wiped except for 3 series you choose, which ones are you saving?
This is what I would choose to keep:
Code Geass: My favorite series. Peak storytelling, strategy, and ending.
Fate: Awesome lore, insane fights, different adaptations give variety (Stay Night, Zero, etc.)
Dragon Ball: Grew up on it. Pure nostalgia + iconic action scenes. Easy rewatch value.
Interested to hear everyone else's takes!

Let’s talk about Gate
First off let me say what a breath of fresh air this show was. Compared to the usual affair of either a 14 year old boy or a class of high schoolers, were dealing with an entire government figuring out what to do with another world thats far below them in not just technology but man power, rich in natural recourses untouched by man made machines. I find these stories to have far more impact when it’s not just the mc or his class or companions that can interact with this other world but the entire country has to work together to find a solution. It’s a good watch and an underrated one at that. What would you rate this title?
Searching for a show
I’ve been looking for this anime I saw a clip of months ago. It’s a romance/comedy anime I think. The main characters are best friends and often make skits with each other. I’m not even sure the anime exists but if anyone could help that’d be great
