Why are the basically no fantasy/isekai with shounen like character development?

Why are the basically no fantasy/isekai with shounen like character development?

Nearly all fantasy/isekai borrow massively from rpg games. But the core appeal of rpg games is slowly leveling up becoming stronger and is completely missed. Basically all fantasy/isekai anime have insantly overpowered characters. It makes them so boring and pointless to me. The hook of getting stronger is incredibly successful in the shounen genre. So it seems so bizzarely uncapitalized.

Please suggest me some if you think im wrong, but ive watched or tried most the popular fantasy/isekai. Even if they dont start the strongest in universe they quickly unlock gimmicky skills that no one else has.

Mushoko tensei has alot of flaws but its one of the only isekais where mc slowly gets stronger. And I think its the main reason why its so successful. Weakest beast tamer started interesting but then 2nd half felt like a completely different unrealated show. Shows like shield hero and solo leveling and other do start weak but they become OP/strongest so fast, they dont have the gradual and continous progression that shounen genre does so well.

Angel Next Door S2 hurts to watch

Angel Next Door S2 hurts to watch

Season 1 was good for me and i really liked how refreshing it was to see a good romance about people who love each other however.

Season 2 is nearly done and:

– Side Characters genuinely don’t exist

– The Mom is so cringe it hurts

– Every Episode is repetitive with a kiss or a hug and that’s about it

– However the worst part is the fact that Amane has gone from being written as a kind and caring person to now someone who is afraid of his “Male Urges”

The Male urges and can’t hold myself back thing is so painful to watch and not only that but it’s been going on for like 7-8 episodes.

This isn’t “Wow he’s so caring” or “Wow it’s cute how he doesn’t want to hurt her”

It’s giving off a message of “Amane is a man and is struggling not to hurt you with his desires”

As i said Season 1 was good but Season 2 is genuinely unwatchable and it’s just sad to see.

Honestly just wondering if anyone else thinks similar ?
