Hi everyone, the r/anime mod team is pleased to announce a new AMA with MomoCon's Co-Chair, Chris Stuckey, this Friday, May 1st at 1 PM EST (10 AM PST / 5 PM UTC). The thread will go up about 2 hours before that to allow questions to accumulate.

MomoCon is a 4 day anime, comics and gaming convention held annually in Atlanta Georgia since 2005. You can find the schedule here and a list of guests here to see what MomoCon has in store for this year.

How does the tone feel to you in Daemons of the Shadow Realm?

How does the tone feel to you in Daemons of the Shadow Realm?

Did anyone else notice the shift in tone from the first episode to the rest? It started off quite dark, and then suddenly became much more lighthearted.

I still enjoyed it a lot, but I’m curious if that stood out to others too.

What’s an anime that MAINLY performed well in Japan compared to other countries?

What’s an anime that MAINLY performed well in Japan compared to other countries?

I can name anime that dominated globally.

I can name anime which really only hit the global market, with Japan being kinda meh about it.

But i can't think up of anime that majorly hit in Japan, but didn't see much happen outside Japan.

Because from what i've usually seen, if it hits in Japan, it'll likely hit everywhere because ultimately it's a good show. That being said – maybe the show was only good because it presented an idea/theme that uniquely resonated with Japanese audiences.

Any thoughts?
