Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion – June 12, 2026

This is a daily megathread for general chatter about anime. Have questions or need recommendations? Here to show off your merch? Want to talk about what you just watched?

This is the place!

All spoilers must be tagged. Use [anime name] to indicate the anime you're talking about before the spoiler tag, e.g. [Attack on Titan] This is a popular anime.

Recommendations

Don't know what to start next? Check our wiki first!

Not sure how to ask for a recommendation? Fill this out, or simply use it as a guideline, and other users will find it much easier to recommend you an anime!

I'm looking for: A certain genre? Something specific like characters traveling to another world?

Shows I've already seen that are similar: You can include a link to a list on another site if you have one, e.g. MyAnimeList or AniList.

Casual Discussion Fridays – Week of June 12, 2026

This is a weekly thread to get to know /r/anime's community. Talk about your day-to-day life, share your hobbies, or make small talk with your fellow anime fans. The thread is active all week long so hang around even when it's not on the front page!

Although this is a place for off-topic discussion, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  1. Be courteous and respectful of other users.

  2. Discussion of religion, politics, depression, and other similar topics will be moderated due to their sensitive nature. While we encourage users to talk about their daily lives and get to know others, this thread is not intended for extended discussion of the aforementioned topics or for emotional support. Do not post content falling in this category in spoiler tags and hover text. This is a public thread, please do not post content if you believe that it will make people uncomfortable or annoy others.

  3. Roleplaying is not allowed. This behaviour is not appropriate as it is obtrusive to uninvolved users.

  4. No meta discussion. If you have a meta concern, please raise it in the Monthly Meta Thread and the moderation team would be happy to help.

  5. All /r/anime rules, other than the anime-specific requirement, should still be followed.

  6. Bravely You

Parasyte: The Maxim is still one of the best “complete” anime I’ve watched

Parasyte: The Maxim is still one of the best “complete” anime I’ve watched

I’ve watched a lot of anime that start strong but either drag in the middle or fumble the ending a bit. Parasyte: The Maxim is one of the few that felt consistently focused the whole way through.

It has a clear premise, the stakes keep rising naturally, and it actually feels like the story is building toward something instead of just stretching itself out. I also liked that Shinichi changes a lot over the series without it feeling forced.

For me that’s a big reason it stands out. It’s not just that it’s dark or intense it’s that it feels complete. Beginning, middle, and ending all work.

What anime gave you that same feeling of being a really strong complete package from start to finish?
